Third-Party Authorization Letters for Press Releases

If your press release mentions a person, business, brand, or organization that is not the main subject of the article, you may need to provide a signed authorization letter.

The letter confirms that the third party has reviewed and approved the information about them.

When Is Authorization Required?

Authorization may be required when your press release mentions:

  • A person or company

  • A client or business partner

  • An investor or sponsor

  • A third-party quote

  • A person shown in an image

  • Another brand or organization

A separate letter is required for each third party mentioned.

Important

Some packages and outlets do not allow third-party mentions, even when authorization has been provided. Your article must still meet the requirements of your selected package.
